Pawleys Island Festival of Music & Art has Announced Poster Image for 2023

Pawleys Island Festival of Music & Art has announced that ‘Jazz’ by Melanie D, has been chosen as the image promoting this year’s festival.

“This vibrant image represents what our festival is all about and follows the life story of this talented artist,” said the Festival’s Executive Director, Delores Blount.

The artist, Melanie D, was born Milena Koleva on October 14, 1978, in Sofia, Bulgaria. As the daughter of well-known Bulgarian singer and composer Petko Kolev, music came to Melanie naturally. After completing high school, Melanie studied guitar and began performing and traveling with various Bulgarian rock bands and performers. In her early 20s, Melanie’s artistic interests expanded, and she began painting. She is a self-taught artist focusing on portraits of famous musicians and bands. Her roots in music run deep.

“We believe this year’s image will be one that festival goers will revere for years to come,” continued Blount.
