Dear Lemon Lima, is a coming of age comedy about a lonely 13-year-old half Yup’ik girl, Vanessa Lemor. Trying to navigate her way through getting dumped by her true love, über-intellectual Philip Gregory, and surviving prep school in Fairbanks, Alaska, she embraces her native heritage and rediscovers the spirit of the World Eskimo Indian Olympics. Dear Lemon Lima celebrates our common traits and differences, inspiring kindness, individuality, equality and values kindled by the diary of a 13-year-old girl.

100 years before Audubon, English naturalist, Mark Catesby, explored the southeast colonies. This film documents his life’s work and captures beautiful footage of the creatures he encountered during that exploration and examines how they flourish today on Lowcountry habitats.

South Carolina novelist Julia Peterkin revolutionized American literature and launched what we now call the Southern Renaissance by writing about the lives of plain black farming people. Although she was white and the mistress of a cotton plantation, scholar and activist W.E.B. DuBois declared that she had “the eye and the ear to see beauty and to know truth.”

The Friends of the Pawleys Island Wine Gala held their inaugural Private Tasting of exquisite wines in 2009. These wines were rare, limited productions of select wines donated by local wine enthusiasts, distributors and wine purveyors. The tasting was limited to 16 guests.

A much loved and widely collected artist, Metts lived in Georgetown, South Carolina where she pursued her career as an artist. She was devoted to the arts and loved the Lowcountry, Pawleys Island, and Brookgreen Gardens. Her paintings reflected a sense of humor and excitement for life and family while her exceptional talent and whimsical style made her paintings much sought after during her abbreviated lifetime.

Steve March Tormé, the first-born son of legendary jazz vocalist Mel Tormé, presents an extraordinary evening of music and memories with Totally Tormé. Singing some of his dad’s favorite tunes, including “Lulu’s Back In Town”, “Mountain Greenery” and “The Folks Who Live on the Hill”, just to name a few, Totally Tormé is a special evening of entertainment presenting not only music but video clips, photos and stories about growing up Tormé. Performed with a traditional jazz trio of piano, acoustic bass and drums with the sensational vocals of his son Steve March Tormé, this is a show not to be missed!

Jimmy’s musical training began when he was a young boy in Pennsylvania. Along with his brother Tommy, the talented young musicians joined Paul Whiteman’s Orchestra and at the same time they were recording many records under the billing “The Dorsey Brothers Orchestra”. Their band continued through the early thirties until a dispute over a tempo of a song separated the brothers for decades.

“It’s Showtime” is an event for children under the professional direction of Tim McGhee.

From the opening number, A Chorus Line, “I Hope I Get It,” featuring singers and dancers of all ages, to the closing number, Hair Spray, “You Can’t Stop the Beat,” a high energy number featuring the entire cast, the Grand Strand Theatrical Youth Players promise to entertain us all. During the performance, the audience along with the cast learns what it takes to create a show, from auditions to the final production. Excellent young performers provide comedy, music and dancing for your delight and enjoyment.
